Hazelwell United
Hazellwell United could not field a team in their final match of the season at home to Selecta. The way the Festival league rules over incidents of this nature it looks very likely that Selecta will be given the three points which will take them very close to the tittle.

Kingstanding United
For the second time this season the league table in the Birmingham Evening Mail has got Kingstanding United's goals against incorrect. I'm sure that the goals against for Kingstanding United is 22 and not 28 printed in the Evening Mail. Please e-mail me if i am incorrect. Hope it doesn't go to goal difference to win the league you lads at Kingstanding, I'm only joking lads I think it might be a printing error.

March Fixtures
The Festival League have given Paget Sports only two games in March, they are both against Kingstanding United. On the 4th Paget will play them at Aston University in the Festival Cup Semi Final. Then the following week we play them at the Vale Stadium in the league.
The other two weeks in March we have no games planned but Bucko, Simon and Toddy snr will do their very best to arrange a couple of freindlies, if there are any sides with no games either. So if anybody hears of any teams available to play games on the 18th or 25th let us know and we will try and arrange the games.

February Fixtures
February could have a very big baring on Paget Sports season. On the 4th Paget Play away at Green Lane, on the 11th and 18th Paget are at home to Kingstanding United and then Boldmere BG Falcons. Paget Sports finish the month of February with an away game at Selecta on the 25th. It's a big month in Festival Division 1 with all the top teams playing each other. Plus a big game at the bottom with the game between Hazelwell United and Boldmere BG Falcons. It could be a great month of football in the Festival League weather permitting.
Finally there will be a side from Festival Division 2 in the Festival Cup Final as Land Rover Social and RACO Athletic meet in the Semi Final later in February. Kingstanding United and Selecta play their 3rd round tie this month, Paget Sports will play the winners in the Semi Final possibly in early March 2007.

Weekend Round Up - Leamington Hibernian Cruse into the Semi Final of County Vase
Paget Sports County Vase opponents Leamington Hibernian made it into the Semi Final of the competition with a 2-0 win at AFC Erdington last Sunday. James Connor plays for Erdington, said that Leamington are a very good side and could have won by more than 2- 0. In the other game played in the County Vase last Sunday, Showboat 11 FC lost 1-0 to Pheasey FC. The game was decided with a twice taken penalty in the last minute of normal time. The full County Vase Quarter Final results and the draw for the Semi Final are further down the page.
On the Festival League front it has been a bad month with the weather taking it's toll on the games for January. Green Lane have moved level on points with Kingstanding United after beating Boldmere BG Falcons 3-1 on Sunday. That result sends Boldmere to the bottom of the table, on goal difference from Hazelwell United, who themselves were beaten in the Semi Final of the George Williams Memorial Cup 5-2 by Wonder Vaults Sunday.
Bramton FC have been awarded three points by the Festival League Committee for the game which was abandoned back in November against Boldmere BG Falcons. That outcome has taken Bramton to the top of the table. On a sour note for Bramton they have been exspelled form the Festival Cup along with TC Rangers after their cup tie was abandoned back in October which means Paget Sports have received a bye into the Semi Final, Paget Sports will play the winner of the Kingstanding United - Selecta Quarter Final Tie.

Birmingham County FA Sunday Vase
![]() |
Paget Sports Journey in the Sunday Vase is over. But if that's the standard of football in the competition then roll on next season when Paget Sports can try all over again. Leamington Hibs are no doubt one of the best sides Paget Sports have ever played and would make worthy winners of the Birmingham FA Sunday Vase. From Paget's management point of view the better the teams you play the quicker you learn and to be fair to the Paget lads how quickly they did learn by giving excellent account of themselves in the second half, and with a bit more of lady luck Paget could have got a goal or two. Which would have made the game very interesting, but sadly it wasn't to be. Leamington Hibs are also one of the most sporting teams Paget have played and after last weeks grueling Festival League encounter it was refreshing to watch a game when football was doing the talking. No yellow or red cards and an excellent referee in Mr David Eagle and a substantial Sunday morning crowd made for an unforgettable Sunday. Credit to all those involved with Paget Sports FC and Leamington Hibs FC. it was a great game to watch Beware though Leamington we hope to playing at your level in the near future and would love to give you another game. Good luck to you in the County Vase and the rest of your season. Comments from - ANDY TODD - Paget Sports FC - Website Manager. |
